About LTO Nederland
An entrepreneurial and employers’ organization with added value, for a sector with added value. That is Agriculture and Horticulture Organization Netherlands (LTO).
35,000 Dutch farmers and growers
LTO Nederland represents over 35.000 Dutch farmers and growers. These entrepreneurs are members of the three Dutch regional farmers’ organisations LTO Noord, LLTB and ZLTO.
LTO Nederland represents Dutch farmers and growers on both national and international level. Trying to reach the:
- Right preconditions for agricultural entrepreneurs, so they can make their own business decisions.
- Competitiveness and a strong market position for the Dutch agricultural sector
- Public support
In order to reach this, LTO Nederland partners in networks with government, policy-makers, supply chain partners, NGO’s, media and consumers and citizens.

Nutrition and health
Beneficial for humans, animals and plants
Farmers and growers produce their goods in a fair and transparant way for society: healthy, without harmful residues, without minimal emission, with minimal use of medicines and in a respectful manner for the animals.
Climate
Beneficial for soil, water and air quality
Farmers and growers produce their goods in a clean and sustainable manner for current and future generations: good soil, air and water quality, energy neutral, reusing nutrients in cycles, reducing the emission of greenhouse gases.
Rural areas
Beneficial for the living environment
Farmers and growers take care of the beautiful living environment, a vital countryside to live, enjoy and to work in: conservation of nature and a varied landscape, stimulating local economies, creating good preconditions for production.
Entrepreneurship
Beneficial for the continuity of business
Farmers and growers take care of the income for employees, supply chain partners and themselves. Sufficient income is the basis for the continuity of business. Important preconditions for these are: good and affordable labour, an international level playing field, healthy business climate.
